San Francisco’s 28th Folsom Street Fair

The Folsom Street Fair is California’s third largest one-day outdoor event, attracting estimates of 400,000 people. The festival takes place on over 13 city blocks of SOMA soil, and is packed with hundreds of performers, exhibitors, and vendors. This year, the infamously obscene celebration of BDSM and leather was noticeably tamer than in years past. Police, volunteers, medics, and media kept the festival under check, even with plenty of public floggings, fire hydrant make-out sessions, and a few boners.
